Amorphous Graphite
Description:
Amorphous graphite powder is widely used in steel and iron casting as carbon additive to increase the carbon content of steel or iron casting.

Range of Typical Values
FC % | VM % | S % | Size (mm) |
70 | ≤ 4 | ≤ 0.2 | 0.3-3, 1-3, 1-5, 1-6, 1-10, 1-30 |
75 | ≤ 4 | ≤ 0.2 | |

80 | ≤ 3 | ≤ 0.1 | |
83 | ≤ 3 | ≤ 0.05 | |
85 | ≤ 3 | ≤ 0.05 |
Application:
In steel making and iron casting, this element is used to increase the level of the carbon content in the steel.
This type of graphite is also well known in manufacturing refractories because of its strength, high thermal conductivity, high melting point and low reactivity.
Amorphous graphite can also be used as a replacement to reduce the cost of using synthetic graphite powder, petroleum coke or other carbon additives.
