Description:
Ferro Silicon is an important alloy in the steelmaking and iron casting process. It is used as a source of silicon to deoxidize steel and helps to prevent loss of carbon from the liquid steel. It is also use as an alloying element to improve the final quality of the steel.

Application:
Ferrosilicon is also called deoxidizer as it is used in steelmaking. This alloy will help in preventing reduction of carbon in the molten steel. This composite can be used to replace ferro manganese, silicides of calcium and other materials in deoxidizing process.
Ferrosilicon additive is also added when casting iron to control the initial percentage of silicon.
This interesting composite is also used in manufacturing manganese ferro silicon alloy which is needed to make ductile iron.
In some special application, this alloy is applied in Hydrogen production, which help lower the cost of energy usage and increase productivity.
