Flourspar Lump
Description:
Flourspar lump is a mineral composed of CaF2. In steelmaking, it is used as flux to reduce the melting point and increase the fluidity of the slag, promoting the absorption of Sulphur and Phosphorous into the slag, thus improving the quality of the steel.

Application:
- Metallurgical Flourspar is used to lower the viscosity of the slag, decrease the melting point during Electric Arc Furnace, and as an element to reduce the present of sulphur and phosphorus in the steel grade.
- This grade of flourspar is also used in production of Aluminium as a form of AlF3. The higher grade flourspar can be used in stainless steel making.
- More than 2/3 of the total production of flourspar is aimed for producing Hydroflouric acid.
- Other applications of flourspar are in ceramic making, manufacturing high quality optic for camera and telescopic lenses; used in magnesium and calcium metal production.
